Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil "Ransom" Review and Swatches

I guess we all agree that Urban Decay knows how to throw spark in our eyes through its 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil that has a large selection of color from metallic bright fun to wearable natural shade like matte brown, copper or black. They provide 40 permanent colors and sometimes they launch a few brand new limited edition colors mixed with permanent colors in set. We can choose any attractive shade that we want to play as well as the finish. I was captivated by the beauty of Ransom, its bright purple with pink and blue reflection is unique and cute but sad news for you who haven't seen or tried this color because it's discontinued from their permanent line.

Ransom is not sparkling, not exactly matte either. The pigment is sheer and it needs to be layered to build the intensity. It has waxy texture that glides on lids easy. And it feels comfortable to wear in waterline. It can be smudged before drying.

Thing to be noted -  some eye pencil products on the market are really easy to transfer (usually the drug stores product) and some are not. And Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil is categorized as the product that has great staying power especially under the normal circumstances. But for some people who have crazy greasy eyelids like mine, we always have problem with any eyeliner pencils. Whatever the brand that we use -  it tends to drag into eyelids or lower lash lines. But how messy the transfer is, it depends on the quality of the product itself. The migration of Ransom is not that messy compare to Etude Styling Eyeliner.

In this case, i have tips for people with oily lids. Do not wear eyeliner pencil by itself. You can improve its longevity by applying it over a good eye primer.

Make Over Eyeliner Pencil in Navy Blue Review and Swatches

There is an Indonesian proverb "Tak kenal maka tak sayang" which means "You don't know you don't love" - i think those words are suitable to describe my relationship with local brands the past few years. For quality reason, i was not really impressed with them. I used to underestimate before i gave them a try. But then, there comes a product which beyond my expectation has changed my point of view of local brands.

Well, it's Make Over Eyeliner Pencil in Navy Blue. I think I ran into this product by destiny. That time, i did make up for news presenter and she owned it. To be honest, what made me curious and wanted to try was its pretty greenish blue color that hypnotized. By chance, i love turquoise - somehow, it reminds me of ocean :) A few weeks later i went to a mall and found Make Over store, without thought twice i bought it.

The texture is smooth, creamy and frangible - that is why you have to be careful when you apply it if you don't want your eyeliner broke. It glides like butter. The color is super pigmented, you can see only in one swipe. When it sets, it's difficult to smudge. I tried to smudge it vigorously - damn - it's still there - only the shimmer transferred but too bad after couple hours wearing it i found this product dragged under my lower lash lines and onto crease area. To help lock it in place, i prime my eyelids and lower lash lines. 

In spite of the fact it wastes product in the process of making its tip pointed and the so so staying power. I still like it because it's easy to apply and the color is mesmerizing and subtle for everyday use with touch of a glam.

Tips

Cargo Los Cabos Resort Collection

Does anyone know this Canadian cosmetic brand, Cargo? Well, it might be not familiar in Indonesia and to be honest, I just found it out last year when I was surfing to find a water resistant/waterproof blush which is not creamy in consistency. This is just like what i expected so i was interested to try their swimmable products and coincidentally in the summer 2013 they launched Los Carbos Resort Collection.

This is definitely a very very late review but better late than not to share anything with you, right? The other reason I did this because even Los Carbos Resort was a limited edition kit but they sell some of products in this collection per item permanently. So you still can have and try it.

This bad girl which is inspired by the brightness and boldness of Mexico’s Los Cabos Resort comes in an orange raffia cosmetic bag along with a Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos, Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer, Lip Gloss in Vegas Strip, Better Than Waterproof Mascara and a Swimmables Eye Pencil in Charcoal.

Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos 

This blush is a limited edition, 4 g mini size silver container, embossed with the Cargo name. The packaging is absolutely ideal for traveling as it does not take up too much space at all. 

Los Cabos is a warm orange-y coral with flecks of golden shimmer. The texture is silky smooth, relatively sheer and gives a satiny finish. It has a very subtle light reflecting ingredient that does not emphasize pores or drier areas which gives a nice summer glow without over sparkled. The color is stunning on different skin tones. It can be applied sheer or layered as desired. This product is fragrance free, parabens free and designed to provide better adhesion to the skin and withstands water makes it last through in the hot climate.

Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer 

13 g full size bronzer pressed in Cargo signature innovative metal tin. It has the same texture like the Swimmables Water Resistant Blush which is silky smooth and sheer out evenly. The color is similar to Sephora Highlighting Compact Powder Doré/Golden but slightly darker. This shimmery medium golden tan gives a gorgeous sun-kissed look with fairly high shine level. The shine makes this bronzer tricky to use during the day. Some people may prefer to wear it solely at night for a more glam look. And I found that it accentuates pores. This product also claims to be water and perspiration-resistant. It stays for several hours without losing intensity or fading.

Lip Gloss in Vegas Strip 

Regular size lip gloss in a pinkish nude color that feels creamy, glides over lips without being sticky. It tastes and smells like bubble gum and lasts up for 4 - 6 hours. 

Better Than Waterproof Mascara 

A water resistant mascara which is packaged in travel size. It is fairly gentle for everyday use yet does not smear, smudge or run. Just like its name, this stuff is absolutely better than waterproof mascara. While other waterproof mascara products need an eye make up remover to take off from lashes, this bad girl is easily removed only by warm water and gentle pressure. Super brilliant!!! 

Swimmables Eye Pencil in Charcoal 

Limited travel size Swimmables Eye Pencil is a charcoal color with greenish subtle glitter. The color is bold and God damn sexy. It is creamy in formula but is not too soft or hard makes it glide effortlessly onto the skin. It is possible to be smudged before setting and does not budge. I definitely will repurchase if they sold this eyeliner permanently.

Blush-on ini adalah edisi terbatas, berwadah silver berukuran mini 4 gr, ada nama Cargo timbul pada tutupnya. Kemasan ini benar-benar pas untuk bepergian karena sama sekali tidak memakan terlalu banyak tempat. 

Los Cabos warnanya coral hangat sedikit ke-oranye-oranye-an dengan bintik-bintik shimmer emas. Teksturnya halus, relatif tipis dan memberikan hasil seperti satin. Blush-on ini berisi bahan yang sangat halus yang dapat memantulkan cahaya, tidak menonjolkan pori-pori atau daerah kering, memberikan kemilau musim panas yang indah namun tidak norak. Warnanya mempesona pada warna kulit yang berbeda. Bisa diaplikasikan tipis atau berlapis, tergantung selera. Produk ini tidak mengandung wewangian, bebas parabens dan dirancang untuk menempel pada kulit lebih baik dan tahan air membuatnya bertahan di iklim yang panas. 

Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer

Sama seperti namanya, maskara ini benar-benar lebih baik dari maskara tahan air. Sementara produk maskara tahan air lainnya memerlukan eye make up remover untuk lepas dari bulu mata, produk ini mudah diangkat hanya dengan air hangat dan tekanan lembut. Sangat pintar! 

Swimmables Eye Pencil in Charcoal 

Swimmables Eye Pencil edisi terbatas berukuran mini ini warnanya seperti arang dengan glitter halus berwarna kehijauan. Sangat berani dan seksi. Formulanya krimi tapi tidak terlalu lembek maupun keras, membuatnya mudah diaplikasian pada kulit. Dapat di smudge sebelum produk kering dan setelah kering produk ini tidak bergeser. Saya pasti akan membelinya lagi kalau mereka menjual eyeliner ini secara permanen.

Tas rafia berwarna oranye ini adalah tas serbaguna yang cocok untuk menyimpan produk kosmetik yang penting-penting dan dibawa ke manapun kalian pergi. 

Kesimpulan 

Los Cabos Resort Collection berisi produk-produk make up tahan air yang mengagumkan, diciptakan untuk bertahan pada udara panas dan lembab. Produk-produk ini  akan membuat kalian terlihat "ganas" di pantai. Teman yang sempurna untuk berlibur!

NYX Retractable Eye Liner Review and Swatches

Lately i played with NYX products, now i would like to give you a review and swatches of one of their eyeliner collections which is NYX Retractable Eye Liner. Check it out... ;)

Product information

Packaging

It is 0.01 oz or 0.31 g twist up tube. Some of retractable pencils can not go back inside after you twist it out, but this one can. Each color of the eyeliner in this collection comes in different color of packaging. The packaging color represents the color of the eyeliner itself, makes it easy to find.

Texture

It is creamy in formula. It glides on smoothly and highly pigmented. It is possible to be smudged before it dries up but it is not a perfect product to create a smokey look with.

Application

During the application, try to not press the pencil too hard because it can cause a little dragging over the skin. If you have eyes like mine whose upper lash lines stick to the eyelids when your eyes are opened, then do not blink before the product really sets. Wait a few second till it dries up. It stays put quite well with primer as a base. Without primer it does transfer especially on the outer corner of the eyes and on the waterline area. This product rubs off with water, so my suggestion is avoiding the waterline area in order to remain intact.

Pemakaian

Selama proses aplikasi, cobalah untuk tidak menekan pensil terlalu kuat karena dapat menyebabkan sedikit "geseran" di kulit. Jika kamu memiliki mata seperti mata saya dimana garis bulu mata atasnya menempel pada kelopak mata ketika mata kamu terbuka, maka janganlah berkedip sebelum produk benar-benar menempel. Tunggu beberapa detik sampai produk mengering. Produk menempel cukup baik bersama primer sebagai alas. Tanpa primer produk akan bergeser/beleber terutama pada sudut luar mata dan di daerah waterline. Produk ini hilang apabila tergesek dengan air, jadi saran saya sebaiknya hindari pemakaian pada daerah waterline agar product tetap utuh.
