Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Liquid Lip Color Review and Swatches

 

I always be a fan of Make Up For Ever waterproof products, I think they are super brilliant. One of their aqua range that impresses me is Aqua Rouge Liquid Lip Color. It is a waterproof long lasting pigmented lip color that comes with double-ended packaging, consisting in 2 bottles with one side containing the lip color and the opposite side containing the transparent lip gloss. Lip color tube is completed with doe foot applicator and lip gloss tube is completed with brush applicator. 

 

Texture
The texture of this product is lightweight and creamy. The lip color is matte finish whereas the lip gloss is shiny finish. It is not a secret that common long lasting lip color products usually have dryness texture, this one dries but it does not dehydrate the lips. When it dries, it feels sticky - especially when you press your lips together. Well, if i have to describe the stickiness, i would say it is not like the lip gloss kind of sticky but it is more like dry kind of sticky. That is why they provides the gloss to smooth out the texture and creates lacquered effect finish so your lips will not look patchy.

In this summer 2013, MUFE added five new colorful stunning shades in MUFE Aqua Rouge Lip Color. The colors as follows:

• #17 Bright Orange
• #18 Coral
• #19 Pomegranate Pink

Application

It can be tricky to apply this product because it is very easy to dry. So you need to apply it quickly. Prepare your lips with lip balm or lip conditioner or whatever to moisture your lips before you put the lip color. If you do not want to get messy, i suggest you to use lip liner first, after that apply the lip color to the inner part of lips and blend outward, finish your step with the lip gloss as top coat. You can build up the color by applying layer by layer to get the desire effect, i like to apply it 2 layers before lip gloss. Since it is sticky and flaky when it gets dry, i suggest you to always wear the clear gloss on top.

Longevity and removal
It holds up pretty well. It does not budge and stick in your teeth. The gloss would be faded but the lip color remains for all day even if you are eating and drinking, except the greasy foods. The greasy foods makes the lip color budge in the center of lips. You might need to reapply the lip color just a little bit to inner parts of your lips and add the gloss to entire lips, it is the way to the lip color looks great as the day progress. To remove the lip color simply use make up remover on a cotton pad. It can not be removed by tissue, only oil based cleanser can handle it.

Conclusion
Aqua Rouge Liquid Lip Color is a lip product that will not transfer or fade as long as you do not consume greasy food. It lasts for entire day and intense in color. I do not recommend this product for daily use because it takes time in application and touch up if you do not use to it. But if you are looking for a red lipstick that will not budge and stick in your teeth - this is the kind of lip color that you want to brighten your smile. It stays put in water and under the sun makes it ideal for holiday and dating because it is also kissproof hhahahha. :D
