Product Description 

“An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder.”

Packaging

It is 30 ml black plastic bottle with a pump dispenser covered with a lot of tiny sparkles. The packaging is quite nice yet irritating. It is travel friendly and you do not have to worry if you accidentally drop it but in the other side, you cannot tell how much the product is left. It would facilitate user if the packaging comes in transparent bottle or tube. Well, in this case if you want to see the product that left inside, you can pry the bottom cap with bobbi pin. I will show you the picture how I did it below. 

Texture and Scent

This lightweight, unscented white lotion with shimmery particles blends out wonderfully and does not blur pores. It leaves skin feeling velvety and moisturized and gives a smooth base to apply make up. Although i have an oily skin, I do not consider the glitters as a big issue as they are very subtle and not overpowering nor obvious especially if you layer foundation on top of it, they will seem vanish into your skin. It gives a natural glow and dries quite fast. 

Longevity of Make Up 

This product claims that it evens out skin redness - in my experience, it does not really tone the redness down, it is just okay. It also claims that it blots away excess oil, I agree with that. It does but so so. I noticed that my face get oily after a few hours using it (especially in outdoor) but better or less oily than when i do not have a primer at all. It does a good job as primer which is prolongs the wear of make up.

Application 

Apply it before foundation. 1 pump is enough for the entire face and blend it out using foundation brush or if you prefer fingers make sure that yours are clean.

Conclusion

MAC Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage is a primer which creates a silky smooth skin as a perfect base for make up application. It enhances staying power of make up.

• Who are looking for primer which has brightening, skin correcting, or mattifying effect 
• Who are looking for primer with SPF

Does anyone know this Canadian cosmetic brand, Cargo? Well, it might be not familiar in Indonesia and to be honest, I just found it out last year when I was surfing to find a water resistant/waterproof blush which is not creamy in consistency. This is just like what i expected so i was interested to try their swimmable products and coincidentally in the summer 2013 they launched Los Carbos Resort Collection.

This is definitely a very very late review but better late than not to share anything with you, right? The other reason I did this because even Los Carbos Resort was a limited edition kit but they sell some of products in this collection per item permanently. So you still can have and try it.

This bad girl which is inspired by the brightness and boldness of Mexico’s Los Cabos Resort comes in an orange raffia cosmetic bag along with a Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos, Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer, Lip Gloss in Vegas Strip, Better Than Waterproof Mascara and a Swimmables Eye Pencil in Charcoal.

Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos 

This blush is a limited edition, 4 g mini size silver container, embossed with the Cargo name. The packaging is absolutely ideal for traveling as it does not take up too much space at all. 

Los Cabos is a warm orange-y coral with flecks of golden shimmer. The texture is silky smooth, relatively sheer and gives a satiny finish. It has a very subtle light reflecting ingredient that does not emphasize pores or drier areas which gives a nice summer glow without over sparkled. The color is stunning on different skin tones. It can be applied sheer or layered as desired. This product is fragrance free, parabens free and designed to provide better adhesion to the skin and withstands water makes it last through in the hot climate.

Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer 

13 g full size bronzer pressed in Cargo signature innovative metal tin. It has the same texture like the Swimmables Water Resistant Blush which is silky smooth and sheer out evenly. The color is similar to Sephora Highlighting Compact Powder Doré/Golden but slightly darker. This shimmery medium golden tan gives a gorgeous sun-kissed look with fairly high shine level. The shine makes this bronzer tricky to use during the day. Some people may prefer to wear it solely at night for a more glam look. And I found that it accentuates pores. This product also claims to be water and perspiration-resistant. It stays for several hours without losing intensity or fading.

Lip Gloss in Vegas Strip 

Regular size lip gloss in a pinkish nude color that feels creamy, glides over lips without being sticky. It tastes and smells like bubble gum and lasts up for 4 - 6 hours. 

Better Than Waterproof Mascara 

A water resistant mascara which is packaged in travel size. It is fairly gentle for everyday use yet does not smear, smudge or run. Just like its name, this stuff is absolutely better than waterproof mascara. While other waterproof mascara products need an eye make up remover to take off from lashes, this bad girl is easily removed only by warm water and gentle pressure. Super brilliant!!! 

Swimmables Eye Pencil in Charcoal 

Limited travel size Swimmables Eye Pencil is a charcoal color with greenish subtle glitter. The color is bold and God damn sexy. It is creamy in formula but is not too soft or hard makes it glide effortlessly onto the skin. It is possible to be smudged before setting and does not budge. I definitely will repurchase if they sold this eyeliner permanently.

Overall

Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos 

Blush-on ini adalah edisi terbatas, berwadah silver berukuran mini 4 gr, ada nama Cargo timbul pada tutupnya. Kemasan ini benar-benar pas untuk bepergian karena sama sekali tidak memakan terlalu banyak tempat. 

Los Cabos warnanya coral hangat sedikit ke-oranye-oranye-an dengan bintik-bintik shimmer emas. Teksturnya halus, relatif tipis dan memberikan hasil seperti satin. Blush-on ini berisi bahan yang sangat halus yang dapat memantulkan cahaya, tidak menonjolkan pori-pori atau daerah kering, memberikan kemilau musim panas yang indah namun tidak norak. Warnanya mempesona pada warna kulit yang berbeda. Bisa diaplikasikan tipis atau berlapis, tergantung selera. Produk ini tidak mengandung wewangian, bebas parabens dan dirancang untuk menempel pada kulit lebih baik dan tahan air membuatnya bertahan di iklim yang panas. 

Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer 

Bronzer berukuran 13 gr dipres dalam wadah logam timah yang inovatif milik Cargo yang khas. Produk ini memiliki tekstur yang sama seperti Swimmables Water Resistant Blush yang halus dan mudah dibaur. Warnanya mirip dengan http://yoveelicious.blogspot.com/search/label/Sephora tapi sedikit lebih gelap. Warna medium coklat keemasan yang berkilau ini memberikan tampilan "dicium-mentari" yang sangat indah dengan tingkat kilauan yang cukup tinggi. Kilauannya membuat bronzer ini rumit untuk digunakan pada siang hari. Beberapa orang mungkin memilih untuk memakainya hanya pada malam hari untuk tampilan glamor. Dan saya mendapati produk ini menonjolkan pori-pori. Produk ini juga mengklaim tahan air dan keringat. Tahan beberapa jam tanpa kehilangan intensitas warnanya atau memudar.

Lip Gloss in Vegas Strip 

Lip gloss berukuran reguler berwarna nude pink yang terasa krimi, meluncur di atas bibir tanpa lengket. Memiliki rasa dan bau seperti permen karet dan bertahan selama kurang lebih 4 - 6 jam. 

Better Than Waterproof Mascara 

Maskara tahan air yang dikemas dalam ukuran travel. Cukup lembut untuk pemakaian sehari-hari namun tidak luntur, smudge atau bergeser. Sama seperti namanya, maskara ini benar-benar lebih baik dari maskara tahan air. Sementara produk maskara tahan air lainnya memerlukan eye make up remover untuk lepas dari bulu mata, produk ini mudah diangkat hanya dengan air hangat dan tekanan lembut. Sangat pintar! 

Swimmables Eye Pencil in Charcoal 

Swimmables Eye Pencil edisi terbatas berukuran mini ini warnanya seperti arang dengan glitter halus berwarna kehijauan. Sangat berani dan seksi. Formulanya krimi tapi tidak terlalu lembek maupun keras, membuatnya mudah diaplikasian pada kulit. Dapat di smudge sebelum produk kering dan setelah kering produk ini tidak bergeser. Saya pasti akan membelinya lagi kalau mereka menjual eyeliner ini secara permanen. 

Vibrant Raffia Purse 

Tas rafia berwarna oranye ini adalah tas serbaguna yang cocok untuk menyimpan produk kosmetik yang penting-penting dan dibawa ke manapun kalian pergi. 

Kesimpulan 

Los Cabos Resort Collection berisi produk-produk make up tahan air yang mengagumkan, diciptakan untuk bertahan pada udara panas dan lembab. Produk-produk ini  akan membuat kalian terlihat "ganas" di pantai. Teman yang sempurna untuk berlibur!

Make Up For Ever Face and Body Review and Swatches #24, #32, #38

Recently I got a few texts that asked me about what is the best foundation based on my opinion and experience. There are a lot of awesome foundations out there, i can not just choose one. I will review one by one. For now, here is Make Up For Ever Face and Body, one of my favourite foundations that i use daily very often. It gives a good performance on skin. 

My Skin Type: Oily. 

Product Description 

“The gel texture of the Face and Body Liquid Makeup is light, fresh and meltingly smooth. It evens out the complexion and leaves a thin layer of powder on the skin, for a very natural finish. Its long-lasting and water-resistant formula is also suited to the body. Recommended for all skin types, its light texture makes it especially suitable for mature and problem skin. Essential on vanity tables and trays, Face & Body is the ally of any nude makeup, fresh and faultless.” 

Ingredients

• 80% water
• Volatile silicon
• Pigments coated with hydrophobic properties
• Glycerin
• Mango butter
• Clinically-tested hydration levels: +37% after 1 hour, +17% after 2 hours
• Surfactant-free emulsion
• Polyols with moisture-capturing properties
• Paraben free
• Dermatologist tested

Packaging 

It is packaged in 50 ml or 1.69 fl. oz. transparent glass bottle with pump. It allows you to be able to check how much product is left but it is not suitable for traveling. Once, I inadvertently dropped one of my glass bottle foundations down to the floor and made it cracked and its contents spread all over the places. Since then, every time i want to go traveling, i use to pour the foundation from the glass bottle to a travel friendly plastic one (i will show you in another post). This product is also available in 190 ml. The professional size comes in a plastic bottle. 

Texture and Scent 
This foundation has gel-like consistency which comes out in blobs but super thin and watery. It goes like ice skate on complexion. Lightweight and smooth, you can barely tell you wear it. It gives a healthy glow to skin. Unfortunately, its fragrance does not get credit as good as its awesome texture. I personally dislike the smell of it. For me its strong perfume-powdery scent is too much for a brand like MUFE and quite annoying during the application but thankfully it goes away after the product dries. I expect this foundation is fragrance free. 

Finish and Coverage 

It leaves skin a satin finish without shimmery, very natural look. The coverage is sheer but buildable. Apply one layer you will get a sheer coverage, apply two or multiple layers you will be able to get a slightly more coverage but not full coverage. Since it is super light, it does not cover any blemishes. So if you have blemishes, you need a concealer to cover it.

This is what I like about this product, how many layers you put on your face, it will not end up cakey. But you have to be careful to add layers. To be noted, the pigment of this product begins to appear a few minutes after it dries. It means that the product will look darker one or two tones on your skin than before it is applied. Get it? ;) So if you want to buy this product, I suggest you to give it a try. 

Longevity 

It is water resistant so it is not a surprise that it lasts through the heat and humidity in climate of Indonesia. I found the longevity of this product is between 6-8 hours without primer and 8-10 hours with primer but I need to touch up a few times with powder, especially around the area where has a tendency to get oily such as T-zone or cheeks. 

Application 

You have to shake the bottle well before use it to mix the blobs up. Apply using a sponge, brush or fingers but I recommend to use a clean sponge or brush. This product feels tacky and does not sink into the skin quickly so you have to wait for 2-3 minutes until the product completely dry before mattifying it with loose powder and for body usage you have to dab off any excess after the product dries with a tissue or brush to avoid stains on clothes.

Pros

• It can be used for both face and body
• It does not feel heavy on skin
• It gives a natural finish and healthy glow
• It is easy to blend
• It lasts longer

Cons

• The packaging is not travel friendly
• The smell is unpleasant 

Conclusion 

Make For Ever Face and Body is unlike the typical foundation. This one is incredibly gentle on skin, very sheer, glides on smoothly, gives a nice sheen and does not emphasize the imperfections nor melt as the day goes by.

Recommended for

• Dry, normal to slightly oily skin (in oily skin case, you do not mind to do touch up several times)
• Who does not have major problems with complexion
• Who wants flawless complexion

Not recommended for

• Who is sensitive to its scent
• Who has major blemishes 
• Who likes full coverage

MUFE Face & Body Texture

I use to apply this product only 1 layer because it is enough to covers the redness on my skin but not my pores, you still can see it. This is what natural finish looks like. Usually i put concealer under my eyes but miraculously, the darkness was gone the day when i took these pictures so i did not have to apply anything on it hahaha... 

MUFE Face & Body #32 applied 2 layers (before sink into the skin)

After a few minutes the color became darker and more yellow.

Even it was not as glowy as before mattified - it still looks pretty, right?
